PROJECTS IN PROGRESS

LINDSAY HEIGHTS

A Zilber Family Foundation Project

unnamed.png

For each of the past two years Zilber Family Foundation has granted Ezekiel HOPE $125,000 to educate Lindsay Heights residents about electrical hazards that are frequently present in older homes.  Ezekiel enlisted the help of neighborhood residents to identify homeowners in need of safety assessments. We also asked residents if they had family members that would be interested in learning about the electrical trades so there would be at least one "leave behind" neighborhood liaison to assess and troubleshoot minor electrical problems.

Ezekiel trainees go into Lindsay Heights residents' homes to conduct electrical safety assessments. The trainees correct these hazards, with oversite of a master electrician, at no cost to homeowners, up to $2,000 per home. This is a win-win program. Trainees receive invaluable hands-on training and homeowners receive much needed electrical repairs!
